2008 / 09 TIP-OFF CLUB NEWS
Dear Parents –
Welcome to another exciting season of Walton High School Basketball. This year looks to be as exciting as last at all levels of the program with great coaching, great athletes and great competition.
It is an exciting time for the Walton Tip-Off club as well. We have received terrific responses from most of our sponsors and are looking forward to another successful year supporting our athletes and the program at Walton High School.
Important Dates:
Wednesday, November 5 – 7 pm. Mandatory meeting for Parents of Walton Basketball – Walton Commons
This important meeting will take place in the Walton Commons are provide all parents with information about the basketball program, the Tip Off Club, membership dues, volunteer opportunities and fundraising events. For your information, we will also have sign up sheets for committees, and sign ups permitting us to take and post pictures of your athlete.
Tip Off club dues are $225 per season (the lowest in our conference of teams in East Cobb/North Fulton). While not required, each family is asked to support our efforts to make sure our teams have all they need to compete at the highest level and in line with our competition. You can bring a check (made out to the Walton Tip-Off Club) and provide it at the Parents meeting or bring it to the Covered Dish Supper (see below).
If you are not able to pay the full share of dues at one time, the Club treasurer will be glad to work with you on a plan. Your support is critical to our responsibilities for officials, team travel to tournaments, camps and other special assistance to the basketball program.
Sunday – November 9 – 5:30 Annual Covered Dish Supper – Walton Commons
Our annual covered dish supper is a great way to kick off the season and congratulate all the players who made a Walton Basketball team. All players, coaches and cheerleaders will be introduced during the evening and the coaches will all give an overview of the teams and the upcoming season. In addition, all Junior Walton Raider basketball players, parents and coaches attend this event. It is a great time to meet and get excited about the upcoming season. Parents of players are asked to bring a covered dish to share based on the team and age of the players. Requested dishes and items we ask each family to bring are listed under the 'Covered Dish Dinner' link located on the left hand toolbar on this web page.
There will be additional opportunities to volunteer to help our program and pay your Tip Off club dues as well. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for another great season.
GO RAIDERS
