2006 CAMP INFORMATION--GIRLS Summer Camps 2006 Be sure to scroll all the way down as there is a great deal of information on this page about camps, including registration form, and information on Athletic Physicals offered at the Walton Gym on May 20, 2006. Varsity: • Georgia College (Milledgeville) Friday, June 9 – Monday, June 12 (10 games) Total Cost: $180 (plus $10 cash for the carpool) • North Georgia College (Dahlonega) Friday, June 16 – Saturday, June 17 (8 games) Total Cost: $50 (plus $10 cash for the carpool) • Lassiter Team Camp (Lassiter High) Thursday, June 22 – Saturday, June 24 (8 games) Total Cost: $50 (2 games on the 22nd & 23rd; 4 games on the 24th) JV/9th: • Georgia College —same info as Varsity (see above) • Holy Innocents’ Team Camp (Holy Innocents’ High School) Monday, June 26—Friday, June 30 (10 games) Total Cost: $50 (Two games each night) Varsity/JV/9th:** In addition to our team camps (limited to games only), we strongly encourage everyone in the program to attend a “position” camp as an individual. Below is a suggested list of good local day camps in a variety of price ranges. Also, the University of Georgia’s overnight position camp is excellent as well. Always choose the “elite” position camp for the best competition and coaching. We can certainly help to locate others, too. Suggestions: • Kennesaw State University • Georgia Tech• Emory University **Check the web sites of these schools to download dates and registration info. 4th-9th grades: 11th annual Lady Raider Basketball Camps Monday, June 5th —Thursday, June 8th @ Dickerson Middle School Also, we are going to carpool to the out-of-town camps instead of renting vans as we have in the past. We will cover fuel costs for each of the drivers through a $10 “carpool fee.” (Each player should bring $10 cash on the morning of the trip.) If you would be willing to drive in either direction for either of the trips, we’d appreciate it. *All checks for the camps should be written to Walton Tip-Off Club. 2006 Walton Lady Raider Basketball Camps 11th annualFundamental Camp This camp, open to all girls entering 4th through 6th grades, focuses on the individual fundamentals that are essential to any young player’s development whether she is a beginner or an experienced player. This session includes individual and group instruction and full court games. June 5 - 8 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. $80 4th annual Advanced Camp This session is designed for players with some individual skills and a basic knowledge of the team aspects of the game. Open to all girls entering 7th through 9th grades. Instruction includes team concepts in offense, defense, and the transition game. June 5 - 8 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 $80 Sorry. Due to limited gym availability this summer, we have had to cancel our traditional Shooting Camp. Hopefully, we will be able to offer it again next summer. CAMP FEATURES of both camps: *Daily instruction in essential fundamentals *Contests with awards *Full court games *Instruction by current Lady Raider coaches and players *Free passes to next season’s Lady Raider games *Camp t-shirt (100% cotton) *Full supervision of Walton Lady Raider Basketball staff **Dickerson Middle School has graciously offered its gym for our camp this summer.
