Cobb County has no middle school athletic programs. Volunteers fill this void and help prepare players for Walton High School basketball through the Walton Jr. Raiders Basketball program. They compete against the other 13 county high school feeder programs and Marietta Middle School. During the season the teams practice approximately three nights a week, playing fourteen league games, several non-league games with Cherokee and North Fulton county teams, and participating in several local tournaments.
The league is competitive rather than recreational. As such, there are no requirements for player participation (minimum playing time), and competition is much more physical than is found in recreational leagues. Participation in this program requires a major time commitment and is structured for those boys and girls who have a desire to play high school basketball.
Our mission is to develop individual skill and character while teaching fundamentals, competing at the highest level in practice, and winning games.
