Coach Satalin graduated from Seton LaSalle High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The basketball team won the Pennsylvania State Championship in 1988 and the Western Pennsylvania Championship in 1989.

Jim graduated from Oswego State, in Oswego, New York, in 1994. He was an assistant basketball coach at Oswego State in 1994. He also was a boys modified basketball coach at Bishop Ludden High School in 2000 and 2001. He moved to Atlanta from Syracuse, New York in 2001.

Coach Satalin has worked with Coach Paul Hewitt at Georgia Tech with his Summer Development Camps for several years.

This will be Coach Satalin's fourth season at Walton. His first year at Walton he was an assistant Varsity Boy's Coach. This will be his third year as the Freshman Boy's Head Coach, and he will also assist with the Varsity Boy's team.
